Uganda's agricultural research corporation seeks partnership with Embrapa
Last August 08 and 09, Embrapa Dairy Cattle welcomed the visit of a mission from Uganda, led by the general director of their National Agriculture Research Organization (NARO), Ambrose Agona. The aim of the meeting was to establish a line of understanding to learn about the Brazilian dairy production chain, with the purpose of implementing a business unit to trade technologies and products developed by the East African agricultural research corporation.
According to Embrapa Dairy Cattle's Head of Research and Development, Pedro Arcuri, the Ugandan government intends to create a dairy business incubator in Brazil. “They are also interested in making Embrapa's technologies available for the dairy sector in Uganda”, he commented.
Arcuri made an institutional presentation to the African delegation, who in turn presented NARO's operations to the Brazilian team. The Ugandans also visited Embrapa Dairy Cattle's research labs at the headquarters in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, and the facilities and studies at the Experimental Field in Coronel Pacheco, Minas Gerais.
