Book covers passiflora species cultivated around the world
Embrapa recently launched the book Pasifloras - especies cultivadas en el mundo, resulting from the proceedings of the I World Congress and the III Latin-American Congress of Passifloras, held in Neiva, Huila, in Colombia, in 2017. The publication was organized by the Center-Corporation for the Technological Development of Passifloras in Colombia (Cepass), Embrapa, and the Colombian Federation of Passiflora Producers (FedePasiflora). It describes the morphological and agronomic characterists of the main passion fruit species that are cultivated around the world.
The intention is that the book becomes an important source for researchers, professors, students, technicians and farmers from the the main countries that commercialy cultivate different passion fruit species. The content was compiled by the technical editors Adalberto Rodríguez Carlosama and Marisol Parra Morera, from Cepass, with Fábio Gelape Faleiro and Ana Maria Costa, from Embrapa Cerrados. The authors include researchers from several Embrapa Units: Embrapa Cerrados, Embrapa Agrobiology, Embrapa Cassava and Fruits, Embrapa Semi-arid Region, Embrapa Temperate Agriculture, and Embrapa Food Technology.
