GREENHOUSE GAS DYNAMICS AND CARBON BALANCE IN GRAIN PRODUCTION SYSTEMS IN BRAZIL
GREENHOUSE GAS DYNAMICS AND CARBON BALANCE IN GRAIN PRODUCTION SYSTEMS IN BRAZIL
The goal of the project is to learn the capacity of the current production systems and of alternative technologies focused on carbon accumulation and sequestration in the soil and on reducing (direct or indirect) greenhouse gas - GHG - emissions. Such knowledge is essential for the investigation and foresight of future scenarios and for the planning of public policy to encourage the adoption of global warming mitigation practices. This project comprises the investigation and analysis of grain production systems, especially those for soybeans, maize, rice, beans, cowpeas and wheat.
