Validation of the Qualisolo Application and Development of a Computing Module as a Decision Making Support in Irrigation Systems
Some results of practical interest to soil management can be extracted from the soil's water retention curve. The recent validation of the Arya and Paris model for Brazilian soils created excellent opportunities to expand the functionality of the soil granulometric analyzer which is used to obtain in detail the entire particle distribution curve. Since the granulometric analysis takes only 20 minutes, at the same time, through the developed computing implementation, the following results can also be obtained: retention curve, hydraulic's non-saturated conductivity, level of the soil's physical quality, and density's and humidity's handling range. With these goals in mind, the Qualisolo software was developed; it uses the granulometric results and the soil's global density as input data. The set of methods used in the program need validation for Brazilian soils, therefore, in this project, the validation will be done by consistency experiments comparing the Qualisolo results and the traditional methods acquired by soil analysis labs. The validation of these results will allow Qualisolo's incorporation with the granulometric analyzer, turning it into a product that's worthier and more attractive. This project will develop a computer app to assist the direct demand of the irrigation producers.
