Assistive Technology Set Up Initiative for the Disclosure of Embrapa Instrumentation's Science and Technology
This work's proposal is to develop a pilot project focused on carrying out two objectives that target the corporative environment. The first is to build for the visually impaired a website that will allow them to access Embrapa's findings in the fields of science, technology and innovation. The second aims to adapt the technologies into specific material that would allow these persons' interaction with Embrapa's science and technology research findings in key places such as fairs, exhibitions or other events taking place in Brazil or abroad. The goal is to expand the field of assistive technology in sci-tech as defined by Cook and Hussey (1995): "a broad range of equipment, services, strategies and practices conceived and applied with the intent to ease the functional problems encountered by persons with disabilities", quoting the definition of the ADA (American with Disabilities Act).
