Summary: O matrinxã (Brycon amazonicus) é um caracídeo onívoro que aproveita de forma eficiente alimentos de origem vegetal. Por esse motivo, neste experimento foi utilizado o feijão-caupi (Vigna unguiculata), uma leguminosa cultivada por pequenos produtores nas regiões Norte e Nordeste.
