Summary: A study was carried out to evaluate the short-term responses of annual ryegrass cv. BRS Ponteio to sudden root exposure to increasing levels of PEG 6000 as estimated by protein profiles. The effects were determined after 30 days of continuous stress through the microfluidic Lab-on-a-Chip technique (MF) in comparison with sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). The analysis through MF considered a complete block design, with five treatments (0, 200, 250, 300, and 350g.L"! PEG6000), 12 blocks (i.e. the number of microfluidic chips) and one observation per plot.
