Summary: The São Francisco Valley is located in northeast of Brazil and is notable for resenting the wine industry as one of the most important activities in the socio-economical aspect. The region presents peculiar soil and climate conditions, different from the traditional ones. The tropical semi-arid climate, lack of winter and the water availability for irrigation, allow the scheduling of the crop production throughout the year and up to two annual harvests, despite the low natural soil fertility. Although fertilization is important for the vine fruit and wine quality, few studies are found about the proper dosage of nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) that should be applied in the vines of the region. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of different nitrogen and potassium doses by fertigation on the quality of Syrah red wines. The experiment was installed at the ?Bebedouro' experimental field in Petrolina, PE. Brazil;
