Summary: Resumo: Para a obtenção de animais mais eficientes e sistemas de produção mais rentáveis, faz-se necessário a utilização de várias caracterís ticas como critérios de seleção. Diante do exposto, objetivou-se com este estudo estimar as tendências genéticas entre características de composição de carcaça e idade à primeira concepção (IPC) e ao primeiro parto (IPP), em um rebanho da raça Nelore sob seleção para precocidade sexual. Foram estimadas as tendências genéticas, através de análise de regressão, para as características de peso da caraça quente (PCQ), peso da porção comestível (PPC), IPC e IPP. As tendências genéticas foram de 0,80 kg/ano para PCQ, 0,33 kg/ano para PPC, e -0,12 a -0,16 meses/ano para características indicadoras de precocidade sexual. A utilização dessas características como critério de seleção é eficaz em promover mudanças genéticas satisfatórias no rebanho avaliado. Abstract: To obtain more efficient animals and more profitable production systems, it is necessary the use several traits as selection criteria. Thereby, the aim of this study was to estimate the genetic trends between composition carcass traits and age at first conception (AFCo) and first calving (AFCa), in a Nellore cattle herd under selection for sexual precocity. Genetic trends between carcass were estimated, using regression analysis, for hot carcass weight (HCW), weight of edible portion (WEP), AFCo and AFCa. The genetic trends were 0.80 kg/year for HCW, 0.33 kg/year for WEP, and -0.12 to -0.16 months/year for traits that indicate sexual precocity. The use of these characteristics as a selection criterion is effective in promoting satisfactory genetic changes in the evaluated herd.
