Summary: The effect of liming and phosphorus fertilization on the initial productivity of Andropogon gayanus cv. Planaltina in the municipality of Palmas - TO. A completely randomized design was used: DIC, which consisted of five treatments and four repetitions. The following treatments were used: T1: Control, T2: Elevation of Saturation by Bases at 60% + Zero Phosphorus, T3: Elevation of Ca and Mg + Zero of Phosphorus T4: Elevation of Saturation by Bases at 60% + 50 kg ha-1 of phosphorus, T5: increase in the content of Ca and Mg + 50 kg ha-1 of phosphorus. There was a significant effect on the initial yield of dry matter where phosphorus was applied. However, when comparing the different liming methods in isolation, no significant effect was obtained. It is concluded, therefore, that although adapted to low fertility soils, Andropogon gayanus cv. Planaltina responds well to the application of lime and fertilizers.
