Summary: This chapter deals with the contributions of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) to achieve target 15.5 of the Sustainable Development Goal 15 (SDG 15) (United Nations, 2018): "Take urgent and significant action to reduce the degradation of natural habitats, halt the loss of biodiversity and, by 2020, protect and prevent the extinction of threatened species. This chapter presents a brief compilation of how Embrapa performes to comprehend and decrease the loss of habitats and biodiversity through its Research Centers located in all Brazilian regions".
