Summary: The purpose of this article is to bring to the readers, scholars and practitioners in the areas of agribusiness and national security and defense elements relevant to the elaboration of joint projects, with the participation of the Brazilian Company of Agriculture (Embrapa), having as reference the past occurrence of agroterrorist actions in the country, which caused significant losses to the sector. Such projects require raising awareness about the relevance of the topic and learning how to deal with weak signals that help anticipate probable events so that surprises can be reduced by issuing early warnings.
