Summary: A missioneira-gigante é uma espécie forrageira nativa de Santa Catarina. Surgiu espontaneamente no alto Vale do Itajaí do cruzamento entre a grama-missioneira (Axonopus jesuiticus (Araújo) Valls) e o gramão (Axonopus scoparius (Flüggé) Kuhlm.).
