Summary: Infecções virais ocorrem em macieiras nas regiões pomicultoras de todo o mundo, afetando significativamente a produtividade e a rentabilidade de pomares e viveiros. Destacam-se os vírus latentes comuns na maioria das cultivares comerciais Apple stem grooving virus (ASGV), Apple stem pitting virus (ASPV) e Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (ACLSV) (família Betaflexividae) além de outras doenças de provável natureza viral, ainda não caracterizadas.
