Summary: BRS Alvorada and BRSGO Guará were developed from backcrosses of the commercial Metica 1 and the blast-resistant cultivars Huan-Sen-Go and 5287, respectively. The cultivars combine blast-resistance with high yield and characteristics superior to Metica 1.
