Summary: A leprose, causada pelo Citrus leprosis virus C (CiLV-C) e transmitida por ácaros Brevipalpus phoenicis, de ação local no hospedeiro vegetal, tem a sua maior importância econômica no Brasil. Nos últimos anos, têm aumentado os relatos de sua ocorrência em países das Américas, o que faz desta doença um risco potencial para a citricultura mundial (BASTIANEL et al., 2010, CASTILLO et al., 2011).
