Drought mitigation by beneficial bacteria

Embrapa Environment has actinobacteria isolates that can perform important roles in agriculture, as they are potentially active: i) in the biological control of plant pathogens; and II) in promoting plant growth in dry soils.
Because they present osmotolerant characteristics, they can reduce the effects of water stress in soybeans, corn and wheat due to enzymes, phytohormones, nutrient mineralization, phosphate solubilization, and nitrogen fixation.
The first bacterial inoculant to promote plant growth and protection against drought that was generated from this technology is Auras, a product developed in partnership with the company Nooa Agricultural Science and Technology.
