The Papaya Integrated Pest Monitoring System (SimpMamão) helps control smallpox or black spot and the spider mite.
On a mobile device (cell phone or tablet), the farmer fills in digital spreadsheets with information about the crop, such as the number of insects found and the number of fruits. After synchronizing the data with the system on the internet, SimpMamão analyzes and presents recommendations for spraying the crop or not.
The technology allows for a quick and specific response, restricting, for example, pesticide applications only to the affected area. In addition, the system records a history of observations in real-time, allowing the monitoring of pest dissemination.

This technological solution was developed by Embrapa in partnership with other institution(s).
