BRS 531 is a conventional soybean cultivar that has Shield Technology - genetic resistance to Asian soybean rust - providing greater efficiency and safety in the chemical management of the disease. While the genetic resistance to rust does not eliminate the need for chemical control, it nevertheless represents an important tool to slow the progress of the disease in the field. The sanitary break and strategies such as early sowing, use of early cultivars, chemical control and resistant cultivars are the main pillars of integrated rust management. The BRS 531 has high productivity, high production stability and resistance to major soybean diseases, including the Phytophthora root rot and race 3:14 of the cyst nematode, and moderate resistance to race 4 and 4+. It belongs to the 7.3 maturity group, has an undetermined type of growth and should be sown in medium to high fertility soils. Edaphoclimatic adaptation regions: REC301: Mato Grosso do Sul (Center-North), Goiás (Southwest); REC302: São Paulo (North), Minas Gerais (Rio Grande Valley), Goiás (South); REC 303: Minas Gerais (Triângulo and Alto Paranaíba), Goiás (Southeast); REC 401: Goiás (Center). Some agronomic characteristics may vary depending on the year, the region, the level of soil fertility and the sowing time. Always consult an Agricultural Engineer.
