The Embrapa Soils (Rio de Janeiro, RJ) analyst Igor Dias gave a lecture on technology impact assessment for two technicians from the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation (Corpoica). The event took place on June 02, at Embrapa Food Technology, also located in Rio de Janeiro. “I addressed topics such as approaches for farmers, economic aspects of the technologies and how to use the Ambitec”, reports Igor. “It was very positive to see that Embrapa Soils' expertise in impact assessment has become a reference”. Igor based his presentation on a course about impact assessment offered to Embrapa Soils employees in January. Embrapa's Social and Environmental Impact Assessment System – Ambitec Ambitec includes 14 social criteria and 13 environmental criteria, analyzed in field data surveys, in samples of at least 10 users of each technological innovation.
