Challensges for the preservation, interchange and trade of animal genetic material

Enter multiple e-mails separated by comma.

The general objective is to develop and adapt methods and protocols that make the preservation of germplasm (gametes and embryos) of different species of domestic animals of economic interest more efficient and safe. To do so, it has five action plans, ranging from the search for animal welfare indicators to estimate seminal quality to advanced transcriptome and proteome techniques to identify molecular changes that affect the response to cryopreservation. They are: PA1 (management), PA2 (animal welfare and thermal stress effect on gametes quality), PA3 (cryopreservation of oocytes and embryos), PA4 (cryopreservation of semen) and PA5 (health aspects).
