In order to avoid that herbicide-resistant weed growth hinders the use of agricultural land and renders the technology of resistant crops inefficient, monitoring is essential for Brazilian agriculture, as it allows the early identification of resistance foci to define containment measures and regionalized management alternatives. Therefore, the goal of this project is to maintain the mapping of herbicide-resistant weeds and to establish strategies for the prevention and management of glyphosate and dicamba resistance in Brazil. For this purpose, research activities were structured in the Brazilian South, Southeast and Midwest. The project activities were defined in order to provide a logical sequence of action so that the final results will entail the identification, characterization and definition of resistance prevention, management and control strategies and the cost assessment of resistance by region and weed species based on agricultural practices and processes. The results will be disseminated through training for multiplier agents, lectures, technical meetings, publication of articles in newspapers, magazines and national and international congresses.
