The states of Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo concentrate a hub of production and industrialization of cassava that has long demanded technologies that ensure better performance in various segments of the production chain. In the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, cassava cultivation also has an economic and social expression that justify research attention to the bottlenecks that the activity presents. Despite using a semi-mechanized production system, with the use of inputs, the activity shows weaknesses, notably the dependence on the success of the few varieties available, problems with propagating material, soil management, weed control, harvesting roots and management of insect pests. The high economic expression of the cassava production chain in the poles and the dynamics in search of sustainability and competitiveness, strongly demand solutions to these problems. Since the implementation of the Embrapa Cassava and Fruit Growing Advanced Field in the Center-South region in 2008, many advances have already been made, with a large network of partners involved in the production chain, cooperating to generate solutions and innovations. More recently, Embrapa approved the Manditec Arrangement, which houses projects aimed at generating solutions and innovations for the activity within the region. Thus, the objective of this project is to implement processes and routines for the transfer of technologies generated within this cassava production hub. The strategy is based on strengthening and expanding the cooperation relationships established over the past few years with local agents in the production chain, involving them and grouping actions into four main lines: production, certification and supply of propagating material; training of multiplier agents; internal and external communication and monitoring of technology adoption.
