Brazil is the fifth largest milk producer in the world with 35 billion liters produced in 2015. However, the Brazilian dairy farmer needs to improve milk quality and reduce the cost of production. One of the main constraints for increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of milk production in Brazil is the management of farms. In this context, Dairy Cattle has developed, in partnership with CCPR-MG (Central Cooperative of Rural Producers of Minas Gerais), a tool to verify the economic performance of the dairy property, based on the simplification of data collection and the incorporation of indicators traditionally used in the urban environment to measure financial and accounting performance. Conceived in an open innovation process and already in use by 60 farmers, the GepLeite tool involves a data collection and processing platform harbored in software available in online and desktop versions, and released to the public in 2017. The expansion of the adoption of this tool comes up against two important issues, fundamental for establishing the business model in more complex tools: the establishment of distribution channels and forms of customer relationship. This project aims to develop strategies that expand the adoption of the management tool GepLeite. Specifically, the objective is to implement and evaluate alternative technology business models and to build the appropriate model for the dissemination of the GepLeite tool. To this end, communication and relationship activities are being conducted through direct transfer to users (i.e. technicians and farmers), communication and relationship through user-assisted transfer, evaluation of experiences and development of the business model, business plan development, and development of a mobile app. The project results will be the formation of multiplier agents, knowledge advancement, institutional arrangement and the production of an application for external clients. The expected impacts include strengthening partnerships with the private sector, strengthening Embrapa's image as a reference in the management of dairy production, efficiency gains and competitiveness of the dairy chain.
