Validation of genes for tolerance to water deficit and production of biotechnological active in the development of banana variety with efficient use of water

The proposal presents an innovative solution, which is to validate candidate drought tolerance genes through genetic transformation (cisgeny) for the development of a banana variety with efficient use of water and a case study with CRISPR/cas9 via gene knock-out PDS (phytoene desaturase) as a model for the species.
