This project aims to develop an agricultural and phytosanitary monitoring and an early warning system for the region of Western Bahia. The project marks the beginning of a partnership between Embrapa units and rural producers in that region, through their associations, to provide more and more complex information that will increase the phytosanitary security of soybean and cotton crops in the region, reduce the cost of production and the environmental impact of crops, increase safety in relation to climatic conditions and better monitoring of crops during their development period. The project also includes the creation of a network of already existing automatic weather stations that belong to rural producers, presently outside the network formally established in the country. The products will be made available on a digital platform on the internet and through a smartphone software.
