Digestible protein requirement for surubim hybrid (Pseudoplatystoma reticulatum x Leiarius marmoratus)

The Amazonian spotted or jundiara, hybrid of the crossing of the cachara (Pseudoplatystoma spp.) with the Amazonian catfish (Leiarius marmoratus), is a fish of commercial importance in the Brazilian Midwest, with Mato Grosso being the largest producer of this type of fish. In spite of this, the creations of Amazonian painted use rations that are not specific for the Amazonian painted, preventing the animal from expressing maximum development with the minimum of available protein. In addition, nutrient imbalances can lead to the accumulation of body fat, which reduces the value of the product. To solve this problem, an innovative solution is proposed that will determine the exact amount of protein to increase growth in muscle tissue, to the detriment of increasing body fat deposits. This IS is composed of animal fattening activities under controlled conditions and analysis of performance variables and body and physiological condition, with the participation of partners from the Federal University of Mato Grosso and the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. The main result of the proposal will be a specific formulation for the Amazonian Pintado in the 300 g phase that allows the animal to express maximum body growth with an emphasis on muscle tissue. It is expected that after validating these results, the commercial creations of Amazonian guinea fowl show better economic and financial indicators.(Google translation)
