Integrated Crop-Livestock-Forest for breeding and rearing systems: Beef Cattle
Integrated Crop-Livestock-Forest for breeding and rearing systems: Beef Cattle
Integration systems involving crops, livestock and forestry (ICLF) have been gaining more space in national livestock over the last few years. The implementation of these systems can offer alternatives to ecological, economic and social issues in different regions, mainly in areas that make up fragile biomes such as the Amazon. Thus, the use of integrated production systems is presented as one of the best options to guarantee improvements in production with sustainability. With the conduction of the present project, the objective is to evaluate the performance of young females after weaning, the development of these heifers during the puberty phase until conception, including the evaluation of the reproductive indexes, the puerperal phase and return to the cyclicity of these matrices, in addition to the performance of its products until weaning. The experiment will be conducted in an experimental area of Embrapa Agrossilvipastoril, located in Sinop - MT, Amazon biome.Four production systems will be evaluated: Exclusive livestock production system (L; Marandu grass pastures); Livestock-forest integration system (ILF; Marandu grass pastures inter-row with eucalyptus in triple rows every 30 meters); Crop-livestock-forest integration system (ICLF; with eucalyptus cultivation in triple lines every 30 meters, cultivated annually between the lines with soy in the summer, followed by corn intercropped with Marandu grass, establishing pasture for livestock production during the winter), and finally, Crop-Livestock System (CLI; Marandu grass pastures, alternating two years with cropping and two years with pasture. The variables will be evaluated in production systems under continuous stocking with variable stocking rate. (Google translation)
