Performance of agronomic characteristics of native passion fruit rootstocks under sour passion fruit

Brazil is the largest producer of passion fruit, but despite its prominent position, the useful life of the orchard has been reduced, mainly due to damage caused by diseases of the root system, fusariosis. Grafting using native species, resistant to this soil disease, is presented as a production alternative. With this, the objective was to obtain rootstock of a native species of Passiflora with resistance to fusariosis for the canopy of a passion fruit cultivar adapted for the producing regions of Mato Grosso. The aim of the Solution for Innovation "Combination scion/rootstock of passion fruit resistant to fusariosis" is to indicate the best combination for the production of passion fruit BRS Rubi do Cerrado tolerant or resistant to fusariosis. It is expected that with the use of at least one rootstock of native species for the sour passion fruit in the state of Mato Grosso, it will promote an increase in productivity and fruit quality, benefiting the entire production chain of passion fruit in the state of Mato Grosso.
