The Showcase of Dairy Technologies was assembled in the headquarters of Embrapa Dairy Cattle, located in the following address: Rua Eugênio do Nascimento, 610, bairro Dom Bosco, Juiz de For a MG. With an area of 81 m2, it uses modern, interactive, and didactic resources such as games, illustrated panels and videos. Its purpose is to promote the teaching of science, technology and innovation by means of the dairy agro-industrial chain in a clear and objective way. The Showcase is the representation of the dairy agrifood chain. It is divided into nine environments. The path begins in the purchase of agricultural inputs, passes through the primary production of milk on the farm, milk collection and transportation, milk quality analysis in the laboratory, milk processing by the industry, up to reaching the consumer market. The facility has two more rooms designed to exhibit, respectively, the care for the environment and the role of Embrapa for the milk production chain. The environment is used to welcome students of elementary education from public and private schools, as well as children from childcare institutions. The visit is guided by members of the technical team of Embrapa, which act as monitors and also conduct educational games. To this end, the project conducted activities foreseen in the communications field, such as creating hot site, educational booklets, graphic support material and videos. One of the materials created to support the actions of the Showcase of Dairy Technologies is the activity book named "Have you drank milk today?", with playful content, it aims to educate children about the importance of consuming milk. The publication is distributed during visits and in the Embrapa & School project events. Aimed at 6-12 year-old children, the book contains a series of booklets, which include adhesives, paper crafts and a booklet in a comic book format on milk with a focus on environmental education. In addition to being very colorful and richly illustrated, the contents of the book include kid games, jokes and recipes with milk aimed at raising awareness of the importance of consuming milk in order to have a healthy life.
