In recent years, distance learning via the internet has become an important means of professional qualification, especially in Brazil, a country of continental dimensions. Whereas milk production is scattered throughout the national territory, distance learning offers the opportunity to bring information to professionals across the country. To this end, this project included the design, offering and accomplishment of the first distance learning courses of Embrapa Dairy Cattle, namely: "Sampling, collection and transportation of milk", and "Silage made from maize and sorghum for dairy cattle feeding”. Both sources of information were developed in the Moodle platform and delivered various resources, such as technical texts, photos, drawings and animations, videos, tutoring services, deepening materials, discussion boards and evaluation sheets by the participants. As a contribution from this project Embrapa Dairy Cattle has validated and made available the two mentioned online training programs, and created skills and implemented a network to develop new training courses in distance learning (DL). The project counted on the partnership of Embrapa Maize and Sorghum.
