This project aims to recover legal reserve areas (ARL) or areas of permanent preservation (APP), in regions of family agriculture at the Brazilian Oriental Amazon, in the hopes of reducing impacts resulted from agricultural and forest practices. The project aims to train at least 150 family farmers in management of natural resources in areas which are close to bodies of water, and also to recover and monitor these areas' environment. The goal is to assess the economic and ecological effectiveness of different models of forest restoration of degraded areas through the induction of secondary ecological succession, by natural regeneration, planting of seedlings, and the direct sowing of native and exotic tree species to compose the Legal Reserve.
