San Diego citrandarin was obtained by crossing the tangerine ‘Sunki’ Citrus sunki (Hayata) hort. ex Tanaka x Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf.


It was introduced in Brazil in 1970 by Embrapa Mandioca e Fruticultura at the same time as Indio and Riverside citrandarins. Since then, it has been evaluated in different ecosystems and in different physiographic regions of the country showing perspective of using.
