BRS FC 104 carioca bean is the first super early cultivar of the market, produced by Embrapa. The cultivar has a cycle of less than 65 days (from sowing to grain ripening). Generally, a bean variety has a cycle of 90 days, and the earliest ones have a cycle of around 75 days. This fact represents a competitive advantage for the farmer.
In addition to this characteristic, the cultivar has high yield potential as it reaches an average of 3,792 kg/ha, comprising a yield of approximately 60 kg of grains for each day of the cycle. The average cooking time is 37 minutes. Regarding diseases, the cultivar presents moderate reaction to rust, anthracnose and common bacterial blight.
