Forage Peanuts - BRS Oquira

BRS Oquira is a forage peanut (Arachis pintoi) cultivar propagated by seedlings. It can be consumed by cattle, horses and sheep, both through direct grazing in intercropped or pure pastures (protein banks), and supplied in troughs as chopped green forage, hay or silage. It is recommended for medium-fertility soils, and can also be used in intensive systems with irrigation and fertilization. It has high forage yield, excellent resistance to trampling, high compatibility with short grasses and higher tolerance to droughts. In addition, it is tolerant to temporary soil waterlogging. It can be introduced into preestablished pastures, preferably in rows, or planted in pure stands. It is recommended to establish plant nurseries in the property for multiplication and subsequent implantation in the pastures.
The cultivar is recommended for the Amazon, Atlantic Rainforest and Cerrado biomes.
