Embrapa 031 is an ideal laying hen for intensive commercial brown-shelled egg production systems. They are hybrid chickens obtained by crossing pure lines of the breeds Rhode Island Red and White Plymouth Rock, which adapt well to both caged and cage-free egg production systems.
