Ethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass corresponds to the second generation of biofuels, and is a promising technology under development. The cost of the enzymes for the enzymatic hydrolysis is one of the major constraints for obtaining second generation ethanol. The development of innovative and efficient fermentation processes for enzyme production is critical to ensure the economic viability of cellulosic ethanol production. In this context the goal of this project is: to evaluate the production of cellulases using an innovative fermentation process.
