The project “Technology transfer to consolidate low carbon emission agriculture in Tocantins” was carried out to consolidate an agriculture based in low carbon emission technologies, sharing the knowledge in conservation agriculture through capacity building of scientists, agronomists, extension workers and consultants, which were then capable to transfer low carbon technologies such as no-till system, degraded pastures recovery and integrated crop-livestock-forestry systems to farmers of all st Status: Completed Start date: Sun Apr 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2012 |
Given the serious agricultural losses suffered by the highland region of the state of Rio de Janeiro due to heavy rainfall in January 2011, this projects aimed at transferring agroecological technologies that have been already developed and adapted to the region through cooperative methodologies that foster interaction between researchers and farmers. It was expected to contribute to counter the environmental and economic risk scenario afflicting family farming in the region; diversify productio Status: Completed Start date: Thu Mar 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2012 |

The project aims to estimate carbon balance in different grain production system scenarios in the major Brazilian biomes, ranking those that reduce the consequences of climate change, via computational simulators. The information generated in this project will be used in the project "Classification and spatialization of grain production systems with the use of remote sensing", aiming to produce regional estimates of the carbon balance and GHG emissions for Brazil's entire grain production area. ... Pasture degradation is one of the main problems of Brazilian cattle farming. Several strategies to recover the productivity of degraded pastures have been developed by Embrapa and other research and education institutions. In such studies, reducing the costs of the recovery of degraded pastures has been one of their main focuses. Integrated crop-livestock systems (ICLS) have proved to be some of the best alternatives to reduce the costs of pasture fertilization. ICLS have potential to increase t Status: Completed Start date: Thu Nov 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2007 |
With the objective of developing technological innovations for the restoration of degraded pasture in the Brazilian Amazon region, this project involves all Embrapa units in the North region, besides additional ones in the Midwest. The intended result is to develop technological solutions which involve forage planting methods, e.g. no-till farming, intercropping of forage with annual crops, and alternatives techniques, to combat problems such as infestation by weeds and pest insects orlow soil f Status: Completed Start date: Tue Oct 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2013 |

“The project aims to investigate the possibilities of using systems of integrated crop-livestock-forest (ICLF) systems as a local development strategy in the state of Mato Grosso. It proposes a discussion of the issue in a broad perspective, taking into account their economic, social, and environmental impacts, and the alignment of this strategy to Federal Government programs, contributing to the promotion of the region’s development.”Keywords: ICLF system, Public Policy, Sustainable Local Devel Status: Completed Start date: Thu Mar 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2012 |
Forest systems are part of an important land-use strategy aimed at the maintenance of biodiversity, at the commercialization of wood products and other products, at quality of life and at environmental services such as carbon fixation. The greenhouse gas emission flows and the carbon stocked in the forests are indispensable information, and their estimation may support public policies on development and sustainability. Project GeoSaltus focuses on the use of geotechnologies for the developmen ...Status: Completed Start date: Fri Jun 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2012 |
Olives and olive oil are products frequently found in Brazilian tables. As a result of the small number of planted areas and insignificant production in Brazil, importing has been an alternative to supply internal demand. In 2007, the country imported US$170 millions in olive oil and US$250 millions in olives, according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry and International Commerce. Researches carried out by Epamig, in Maria da Fé - MG, demonstrated the possibility of rational exp ... Status: Completed Start date: Thu Apr 01 00:00:00 GMT-03:00 2010 |
