Plant protection strategies have a growing importance for the food security of humanity. On the other hand, climate change and adoption of new integrated pest management systems can modify the ecological relationships in agroecosystems, altering the population dynamics of pests and requiring attention of producers and adequate solutions from agricultural research institutions. Additionally, the increased circulation of people and goods around the world has intensified the global spread of pests. These changes demand new technologies, public policies and scientific partnerships to address these new biological risks. The Quarantine and Plant Health research group aims to contribute to pest management of agroforestry production systems through the safe trade and interchange of agricultural products, contributing to improving food quality and environmental conservation.
