Mini-curriculum

Has an undergraduate degree in Agronomy (Federal University of Pelotas, 1976), a MSc. degree in Plant Pathology (Washington State University, 1982) and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology (Washington State University, 1985). Presently, is a senior scientist working at the Brazilian Enterprise for Agricultural Research (Embrapa). His research is focused on botanic epidemiology and more specifically in modeling of epidemics and crop simulation models. He is also have been involved with academic activities acting as a collaborator professor in the graduate program of Agronomy at the University of Passo Fundo and of Plant Protection at Federal University of Pelotas. In both programs, his teaching interests are primarily associated with applying mathematical models in biology. He was a visiting professor to the Department of Environmental Biology at the University of Guelph in Canada (1989) and a visiting professor to the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Florida in the United States of America (1996).
