Mini-curriculum

Luís Carlos Nogueira is an Agronomist from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), holds a Master's degree in Agronomy-Irrigation from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), and a Ph.D. degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Florida (UFL), USA. He worked in three different units of Embrapa (Former CNPAI - Agricultura Irrigada, later CPAMN - Meio-Norte, in Parnaíba, Piauí; CPATC - Tabuleiros Costeiros, in Aracaju, Sergipe; CPACP - Cocais, in São Luís, Maranhão). He was coordinator of the National Research Program of Irrigation Technology (PNP-TI), when he worked at CNPAI. He was Head of Research and Development (ChPD) on the management team for CPACP implementation. He is currently a researcher at Embrapa Cocais, a member of the Project Advisory Nucleus (NAP) and a member of the Local Publications Committee (CLP). He is interested in Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) in the areas of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, mainly in studies focused on plant growth, plant root systems, agroforestry systems, integrated production systems and new potential crops for ornamental, medicinal and industrial uses, including renewable energies. He is interested in rural development studies based on actions to encourage human development, personal growth, self-knowledge and understanding of the subjectivities of agriculture, especially family farming, in order to contribute to the appreciation of rural people.
