Juscimar da Silva is Research Agronomist level A at Brazilian Reserach Corporation (Embrapa Vegetables), Brasilia - DF. He holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa (2002) and a Master and Doctor in Soil and Plant Nutrition from the same institution. He was a fellow of the CNPq Sandwich Doctorate program between 200 6 and 2007 at The University of Queensland, Australia. He is coordinator and professor of the Soil Fertility discipline of the Professional Postgraduate Program in Olericulture at the IF Goiano-Campus Morrinhos, GO. He is a proponent and coordinator of research projects, having participated in the orientation of students and in several master's and doctoral boards. He is the author and co-author of scientific papers and book chapters, published in national and international journals. As a research topic, he is foccused on alternative sources of fertilizers for agriculture, development of bio-inputs and vegetable production systems under protected environment. Current work is focused on the development of organic mineral fertilizers; biofertilizers based on carbon hybrid nanotechnology to increase the efficiency of nutrient use and resistance of plants to abiotic stresses; development of a vegetable production system with total control of production variables (vertical farms).
