ARIOVALDO LUCHIARI JUNIOR R is agronomic engineer from the State University of São Paulo ( Unesp/1974 ) , Master in Agrometeorology , University of São Paulo ( USP/ESALQ/1974 ) , and Ph.D. in Soil Science and Agronomy from Cornell University (EUA/1988 ) . Began as agricultural research in 1976 at Embrapa Cerrados , in the area of soil- water-plant - atmosphere relationship. Also assumed the role of Coordinator of the National Program for Research Exploitation of Natural Resources and Socio-Economic of the Savannahs and also was Technical Director of this Research Center. Later, he was the Head of Department of Strategic Management ( 93 ) , Technical Directo of Research and Development of Embrapa Environment ( 94-98 ) ; Participated as the first representative of Embrapa in the International Panel on Climate Change ( IPCC ) , was also a member of several committees including the Interministerial Committee on the Environment who organized the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development- Rio 92. he was member of the first team of Embrapa Virtual Laboratory Abroad ( LABEX ) ( 1998-2002) , located at the USDA - ARS - SWCRU in Lincoln , Nebraska , USA , working in Precision Agriculture. In addition to the research and institutional articulation between Embrapa and the USDA - ARS activities , he collaborated in the formulation of the national research program of USDA - ARS Integrated Agricultural Systems which focuses on integrated agricultural production bases in the management of specific sites and agricultural systems integration, whether using agro-ecological or conventional techniques . From 2003 to 2006 he was Head of Business and Communication and in the period 2008 to 2009 was Head of Research and Development of Embrapa Environment .From 2009-13 he was Head of Research and Development at Embrapa Fisheries , Aquaculture and Farming Systems in Palmas / TO . Currently , as a researcher at Embrapa Information Technology , his research interests are focused on the use of management techniques for for nutrients and water; in the definition of homogeneous management zones ; in the development of sensors for nutrient management , in the development of agri-environment models , decision support system for the management of soil and water and in the study of food , energy crops and aquaculture production systems . His interests of development and technology transfer are directed to consolidate the management techniques and site-specific precision for the efficient and sustainable food production , biofuels and fish farming. He is a member of the Embrapa Agricultural, Livestock and Forest Automation research and development portfolio. He is acting at the Technological Prospection and Assesment Sector and International Articulator of Embrapa Agricultural Informatics.
