Over the past 14 years, he was technical coordinator of RD, macroprogram manager, and head of the Department of Research and Development. During this period, he acquired experience in formulation, implementation, and management of RD models and processes. He directly participated in the processes of formulation, validation, and implementation of Embrapa's RD Management System - SEG, the current Embrapa management model - formulation of concepts to develop information tools to support Embrapas RD programming management - InfoSEG and IDEARE(). Development and implementation of processes for networking strategic RD projects (). Major areas of experience and expertise include technical and strategic feasibility analysis, trans-disciplinary program management, portfolio planning and management, improvement of organizational effectiveness, and networking researchers for large scale projects planning and implementation. As a researcher, he has experience in the development of intercropping systems, domestication of native fruit species and the introduction and evaluation of crop species from Amazon and Savannah biomes in Brazil, along with rehabilitation and restoration of riparian forest in the Savannas Biome. Form 2012 to 2014 he was coordinator of the Labex US program, at USDA/ARS in Beltsville, MD, USA. Currently, he works with Andropogon gayanus breeding for yield and forage quality.
