Graduate at Engenharia Agronômica from Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia (1985), master's at Agronomy from Universidade Federal de He holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (1985), a master's degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding from the Federal University of Lavras (1992) and a PhD in Agronomy (Plant Production) from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2004). In 1987 she joined the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation as a researcher, holding the position of Deputy Head of Research and Development (08/2007 to 03/2008) and Deputy Head of Communication and Business (03/2009 to 05/2010). She worked as responsible for MAPA providing information on cotton cultivar zoning (2009 to 2013), Supervisor III of the Thematic Center for Family Agriculture at Embrapa Algodão (03/2008 to 02/2009) and Supervisor II of the Gergelim Research Center ( 04/2011) to 02/2012). President of the Internal Scientific Initiation Committee PIBIC/Embrapa Algodão, 2007/2008. President of the Technical Audit Committee of the Integrated Peanut Production Project in the States of SP, CE and PB (06 to 08/2007). President twice of the Local Intellectual Property Committee of Embrapa Algodão (from 09/2007 to 04/2008; 08/2009 to 05/2010). Curator of the Germoplama Active Banks of Cártamo Gergelim and Faveleira. Also works as a permanent professor in the Discipline Conservation of Genetic Resources in Agroecosystems, of the Master's Degree in Agroecology, at the Federal University of Paraíba - UFPB and of the Postgraduate Program in Agricultural Sciences at the State University of Paraíba - PPGCAG UEPB/EMBRAPA Discipline: Genetic resources of bioenergy crops for the northeastern semi-arid region. She coordinates projects in the area of Genetic Resources: Component Project of the Portfolio Strategic Management of Genetic Resources for Food, Agriculture and Bioindustry of the National Network of Plant Genetic Resources Platform; Plant improvement and agroecological systems, working mainly with sesame, peanut, cotton and castor bean crops. She coordinated the Agroecology Center at Embrapa Algodão and the Agroecological Cotton Project in agri-food consortia (2015 to 2020).Coordinates the Sesame Crop Improvement Program. From October 2020 to August 2023 held the position of Head of Research and Development at Embrapa Algodão. Currently holds the position of General Head of Embrapa Algodão, Campina Grande-PB.
