Mini-curriculum

PhD in Soil Science by Cornell University (2000), MSc. in Soils and Plant Nutrition by the Federal University of Viçosa (1988), having graduated as an Agronomist at the same university (1982). He recently participated in the team of "Center for Industrial Ecology" at the University of Coimbra - Portugal as visiting scientist in the period of 07/2017 - 07/2018. He joined Embrapa as a researcher in 1989. At Embrapa Cerrados he coordinated projects in international cooperation on the following issues: greenhouse gas emissions (Cornell Univ.), Characterization and modeling of no-tillage cropping systems (CIRAD). He has held management positions as chief executive officer, coordinator for institutional innovation and supervisor in international cooperation. He joined Embrapa Agroenergia in 2012, where he remains as a researcher on issues related to the evaluation of alternative sources of biomass for energy production and evaluation of the environmental performance of bioproducts.
