Mini-curriculum

bMárcia Motta Maués has a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Pará (1986), a master's degree in Entomology from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto (1991) and a PhD in Ecology from the University of Brasília (2006). Since 1989, she has been a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, located at the Agroforestry Research Center of Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, in Belém do Pará. She has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Ecology, with an emphasis on Pollination Ecology, working mainly on the following topics: reproductive biology of fruit and forest species, floral biology, incompatibility systems, pollination systems, phenology, management of native stingless bees (Meliponina) for the pollination of Amazonian fruit trees, impact of forest exploitation on the reproductive processes of tree species, inventory of Euglossini and biomonitoring of native bees in agroecosystems. She has published several articles in specialized journals. She advises undergraduate and graduate students. She coordinates and participates in research projects aimed at understanding plant-pollinator interactions and ecological processes in natural and anthropized areas in the Amazon. She is the Curator of the Entomological Collection of Embrapa Amazônia Oriental. He was a member of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), working on the Thematic Assessment on Pollination and Pollinators associated with Food Production. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Brazilian Network of Plant-Pollinator Interactions (REBIPP), where he worked on the preparation of the Diagnosis on Pollination, Pollinators and Food Production in Brazil. He is a permanent professor in the Postgraduate Program in Biodiversity and Evolution at the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi.
