Mini-curriculum

Graduated in Biological Sciences (1984), Master in Botany, from the University of São Paulo (1988) and PhD in Botany, from the University of São Paulo, with the experimental part carried out at the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew, London, England (1995). Researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation since 1991. Since 1992, guiding professor in the Postgraduate course in Botany (Masters and Doctorate) at the University of Brasília and in the Masters and Doctorate course in Plant Genetic Resources at the State University of Feira de Santana (BA). Carry out research in Genetic Resources and Botany, with an emphasis on Taxonomy, Phylogeny, floristics, rescue of plant germplasm in impacted areas. Specialized in the Lythraceae family. From 1991 to the present, curator of the CEN Herbarium. From September 2008 to September 2014 served as Head of Research, Development and Innovation at Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology. From 1990 to the present, editor of the Flora do Distrito Federal, Brazil series. From March 2008 to March 2012 served as editor of the Taxonomy area of the journal Acta Botanica Brasilica. From January 2019 to August 2020 carried out postdoctoral work at Wageningen University, the Netherlands, using chloroplast genome sequencing to infer the phylogeny and biogeography of Lythraceae genera. From 2019 to the present is a member of the National Board of the Brazilian Botanical Society.
