Chemical Engineer from the Federal University of Bahia (1986), with a master's degree in Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1989) and a PhD in Food Technology from the State University of Campinas (1999). She is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, based at Embrapa Food Technology, in Rio de Janeiro, since 1990. She has experience in Food Technology, with an emphasis on Fruit Processing, working mainly on the following topics: membrane separation processes, fruit juices, evaluation and preservation of bioactive compounds, product development and promotion of healthy eating, having participated in numerous research, development and innovation projects, both as coordinator and as a member. She has scientific papers published in indexed journals, book chapters, Embrapa technical publications, technical lectures given, works presented at events, participation in the media, on radio and TV programs, among other technical-scientific productions. She also works as co-supervisor in master's and doctoral programs, in addition to guiding scientific initiation students. She was a member of the Board of Directors of SBCTA and deputy editor of the Food Science and Technology journal in 2011/2012. She is a member of the SDG working groups of Embrapa Food Technology and Publications of the ODS Embrapa network, in addition to the Internal Technical Committee and the Local Publications Committee of Embrapa Food Technology.
