Degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1995), Master's in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1998) and Ph.D. in Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003). He is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), working at the Research Unit of Tropical Agroindustry, in Fortaleza/CE.
